Rene is Seeking Justice
The United States of America administers a justice system that is the envy of the world. American Justice is a term that conjures images of integrity, honesty and truthfulness. But like anything in life, it can and does make mistakes. Every year there are a number of sensationally news story in the newspapers across America about a person that was tried, convicted and sent to prison for a crime he or she did not commit. Often times, after spending their entire adult lives behind bars, the person is finally exonerated and released after someone finally heard his or her pleas of innocence.

Was tried, convicted and sent to prison for the
Rest of his life for a crime he did not commit.

Rene Verdugo is a son, father, family man and businessman who, despite being incarcerated for over 26 years, continue to maintain deep ties with his family, friends and community in both the United States and Mexico. Rene has been unfairly and unjustly imprisoned by the U.S. Government since 1986. Once you look at the enormous volume of information contained in this website, you will learn that his case is replete with injustice, having been kidnapped from his hometown of Mexicali, Mexico, smuggled across the border by paid American Agents and illegally prosecuted in the United States by the Office of the United States Attorney in Los Angeles, California. Rene was wrongly accused and convicted of the torture and murder of DEA Enrique Camarena in Guadalajara, Mexico in 1985.

Please help Rene Verdugo right this wrong perpetrated upon him by overzealous and misguided prosecutors who in their quest to find those responsible for a heinous crime, have forgotten that their function is to seek the truth - not a conviction at all cost.
